As a 20+ year Learning & Development professional, I faced a unique challenge: moving into a very senior leadership role in my field. These roles are not only highly selective, but also very scarce. Additionally, I have worked for many leading companies with compensation structures far above the average and finding roles to match or exceed my current compensation was challenging. I explored Cultivated Culture’s free resources, I was impressed by the tools as well as the unique and applicable insights and tactics shared in blogs and the podcast (the interviewing questions ones are particularly excellent). I committed to the full coaching program. The wealth of resources in the full program from LinkedIn profile and resume optimization to job search, networking, and interview tactics are superb. But for me, there were two key takeaways from the private coaching that stood out. First, Forrest coached me on how to build a master résumé that I could tailor for each role. This gave me one solid base to work from, but a method to optimize versions for each role. This tactic saved me countless hours. Second, Forrest provided valuable interview insights. Most notably encouraging me to balance “we” statements with “I” statements to highlight my individual contributions and distinguish myself as a leader as well as a team player (habitually, my company culture had trained me to over-index on “we” statements to foster collaboration, but this was undermining my impact in interviews). This was a particularly impactful insights that the private coaching provided that delivered significant impact. If you need help with your job search, I highly recommend that you seriously consider using Cultivated Culture to help. They provided me the guidance I needed to secure a new role which is fully remote and close to a $50k increase in my total compensation.
