YOU’VE SEEN AUSTIN IN
Resumes are still a huge part of a successful job search.
Using the right resume template can help you edge out the competition and win more job offers. Using the wrong template will send your resume straight to the “black hole,”, never to be heard from again.
The problem is, most resume sites charge you to get access to their “free” resume templates and they only tell you after you’ve spent a bunch of time creating it. I remember how frustrating that was as a job seeker, which is exactly why I created this resume builder -- I want to give them to you for free.
The resume templates on this page incorporate thousands of data points from real recruiters and hiring managers at the world’s best companies. They worked with us to design templates that would help you get past the resume scanning robots and beat out the competition.
These templates have also been tested with thousands of job seekers across industries, backgrounds, and levels of experience. Time and again, they’ve proven to help people like you land job offers at places like:
But best of all, this tool and these resume templates are 100% free. There are no hidden costs, subscription fees, or anything like that -- and there never will be.
My goal is to give you free access to the best resume templates so you can focus on landing a job you deserve.

A lot of sites claim that they have the best resume templates - why should you trust me? Here are a few reasons:
When designing these resume templates, I consulted real recruiters with a single goal: to incorporate best practices that would allow you to boost your chances of landing a job offer.
Together, these recruiters have over a century of experience and they come from the world’s best companies. Companies like Microsoft, Google, Barclays, Deloitte, etc.
I started Cultivated Culture back in 2015. Since then, I’ve had over 50,000 people come through the doors of our community -- all hoping to land a dream job.
That gave me the opportunity to test out these strategies at scale. To see what works, what doesn’t, and to identify strategies that no one else is using.
The learnings and strategies that stemmed from these experiments have helped thousands of people take their resumes from blah to brilliant and win job offers at the world’s best companies.
Now I’ve baked the very best, most effective practices into the resume templates on this page. If you scroll up to the top of the page, you can see the logos of the company’s where I’ve helped people get jobs.
The best piece of advice I ever received was this:
"Only take advice from people who already have what you want."
If you want a resume that wins you a job at a place like Microsoft or Google, you should make sure the person you’re taking advice from has gone through that process and received the offer.
Before I started Cultivated Culture, I was deep into my own job search. I started out as a graduate with a 2.5 GPA, a biology degree, and a job in healthcare. Two years later, I ended up with job offers from Microsoft, Google, and Twitter.
The reason these resume templates and the advice you’ll find in this resume builder is so effective, is because it’s coming from someone who has achieved what you’re trying to do.
In order to make sure you’re headed in the right direction, I’ve made sure that our resume builder includes tips, tactics, and advice that’s easy to access right when you need it
Our first example focuses on a customer support representative who reworked her company's ticket triage to reduce their backlog:
This bullet is a nice length (16 words) and its word balance comes out do:
13 % Action Words (developed, eliminated)
38 % Common Words (that, of, in, less, than, weeks)
38 % Industry Terms (tiered, triage, system, JIRA, ticket, backlog)
11 % Measurable Metrics (40%, 8)
"I landed three jobs (all above $100k+) in the past three months using Austin's strategies! I'd recommend them to anyone."
"Austin's strategies helped me land my dream job in San Francisco and triple my salary in the process!"
“Austin’s advice helped me land my dream job at a Fortune 30 tech company with a $40,000 raise."
“Austin’s advice helped me land a Marketing Manager role less than 4 weeks after I was laid off!”
"Thanks to Austin, I landed jobs at Amazon and Apple!"
If you are running into a problem with the builder or you have a feature suggestion, we'd love to hear from you! Shoot us an email at [email protected].
While we don't have the resources to reply to every request (we're a two person team!), we do read every one and work the suggestions into future versions of the tool. We also ask that you read the FAQs below before emailing because we have gone ahead and answered the most common questions there 🙂
Have a question about the Resume Builder? Here are answers to the most common questions we receive:
Right now, our Resume Builder does not support multiple pages. We are planning to enable it in future versions though so stay tuned!
The best workaround is to use the Font Size, Margin, and Line Spacing sliders on the Finalize page to make your content fit on a single page.
You can find the Finalize page by clicking on the Finalize buttons that live in the Navigation bar, or at the bottom left and right hand sides of the Editor screen:
That’s a great question! It’s also one that’s hard to answer in a short Q&A section. The best place to get started are these comprehensive guides I’ve written on the topic:
Great question! We went ahead and created a free resume scanner called ResyMatch.io to help you do exactly that.
ResyMatch takes the info on your resume and compares it to your target job description. It will give you a match score and show you exactly which keywords, experience, and skills you need to add:You can import your resume right from the builder! Just go to My Account in the upper right, find the resume you want to scan, and click the "Scan" icon below the resume.
Resume summaries/objectives are a controversial topic. I believe that resume objectives are a fantastic way to “hook” your reader with your best experience.
My advice is to think of it as a highlight reel. You want to add 3-5 “case study” bullets highlight the best and most relevant experience you have to offer. The goal is to completely “wow” the reader so they think, “Whoa, this person seems awesome - I want to read more!”
Here’s an example of an awesome Resume Objective for a salesperson:
Our builder gives you flexibility over the sections you include in your resume. Right now, you have the option to remove the Objective, Skills, and Interests sections.
You can remove any of these sections by navigating to the section via the left hand menu and then clicking “Remove This Section” at the very top of the middle pane:
If you accidentally remove a section, you can always add it back in using the Add Section button in the left hand menu.
We currently don’t have the ability to remove the Personal Info, Experience, and Education sections of the resume.
Yes! You can remove the Objective section using the “Remove This Section” button at the top of the middle pane:
Microsoft Word doesn’t play well with the technology used to create these resumes online. Think of it like two different languages -- it’s like we’re creating these resumes in French and then asking someone who only speaks German to translate. Not great!
Because of that, you’ll notice that none of the online resume builders out there offer this option.
As a workaround, we let you download your resume in TXT format which you can copy and paste into the Word Doc of your choice.
To export your resume in TXT format, you can use the Download button in the builder’s main navigation or you can select the TXT option on the Finalize screen:
Easy! You can save your resume to Google Drive using the Download button in the builder’s main navigation or you can select the Google Drive option on the Finalize screen:
Yes! We know you put a lot of work into your resume, we wanted to make it easy to personalize for every role and swap out features or sections.
You can create a carbon copy of your resume by navigating to the My Account screen (hover over the icon of a person in the upper right hand corner, then click on My Account) and selecting the Duplicate button on the resume you want to copy:
Our goal is to give you full control over your resume’s content and style.
You can easily change the colors, fonts, line spacing, and margins using the left hand menu on the Finalize screen. You can access the finalize screen by clicking on the Finalize buttons that live in the Navigation bar, or at the bottom left and right hand sides of the Editor screen:
No problem! If you look at the left hand menu in the builder, there is an Add Section button underneath “Interests”:
This will allow you to add a custom section where you can include any content you’d like to have on your resume.
If the exported version of your resume is messed up or doesn’t match the preview in the tool, we want to know!
Please take a screenshot of the preview in the tool and send it along with a copy of your exported resume to [email protected].
Since we’re a two person team, we can’t respond to every single submission but we do read them all and use your feedback to build in fixes and add new features to future release of our resume tool.
