I would describe myself as an Economist or Economic Analyst. Most of these positions are in the public sector. Due to the situation at my government agency, I realized that I needed to target a transition to the private sector, but I have very little previous private sector experience. I knew the current job market environment was a tough one, and I needed to use some different methods to stand out. I chose Cultivated Culture because I really liked the part about not just applying to a bunch of positions online. I liked that laying the groundwork with career clarity, company research, cold networking, and Value Validation Projects were all ways that I could stand out from the crowd. By receiving the coaching, reviewing the training modules, and implementing the strategies and techniques I learned, I received an offer for a Fair Lending Analyst at a large bank. And when I received the offer, I already knew the company’s values aligned with mine because I had completed the research up front. Finally, the biggest long-term lesson I have learned from Cultivated Culture is that networking is a lifelong tenet, similar to learning or exercise, and it does not stop when you receive an offer. Relationship building makes it easier to find that next opportunity, especially when you least expect it!
